Khan Academy: Free, But Thin

Khan Academy has been the College Board’s official SAT partner for years. The videos are solid for foundational concepts. But the practice platform hasn’t kept up with the Digital SAT.

Where Khan Falls Short:

  • Only ~4 questions per skill. Not enough to build mastery—especially at higher score bands.
  • No gap analysis. It won’t tell you which question types are costing you points.
  • Questions skew easy. Students report content doesn’t match the harder Module 2.
  • No Bluebook interface. Doesn’t replicate the real test experience.

Best for: Students below 1200 who need basic concepts first.

Gemini: Free, But Broken

Google launched SAT practice in Gemini in January 2026, partnering with Princeton Review. Free full-length tests sound great—until you actually use it.

Where Gemini Falls Short:

  • The AI tutor is wrong more than it’s right. We tested it for 20 minutes. It gave wrong explanations 6 out of 10 times. That’s not just unhelpful—it’s detrimental. You’re learning the wrong thing.
  • Social media is full of reports of AI slop. Students are sharing screenshots of nonsense explanations and made-up rules.
  • Memory is so bad it forgets its own questions. Ask for help on a problem and Gemini asks you to provide the question. It doesn’t have the context of what it just showed you.
  • Content is old and misaligned. Princeton Review’s bank wasn’t built for the Digital SAT.
  • Can’t analyze your Bluebook scores. No way to upload results and see your gaps.

Best for: Best for: Students who can fact-check every question and explanation themselves.

College CoPilot: Built for 200+ Points

College CoPilot takes a different approach. Instead of giving you more practice and hoping something sticks, it shows you exactly where your points are hiding—and builds a plan to get them.

  • Replicas so accurate, test day feels like a repeat
